Looking for ways to further your environmental curriculum?

An Enviro-Explorers Classroom Kids' Club Membership will help make your learning adventure more complete!

Classroom memberships are entirely FREE!!  

Who's Eligible

Your classroom may be eligible to participate in an expanded version of this cyber club through a special, limited time classroom membership offer sponsored by the Iowa Department of Transportation. 

To be eligible, your classroom (public, private or home school) must meet all three criteria outlined below.

1) Classroom is located in the state of Iowa; and

2) Instructional level is any grade K through 5; and

3) Curriculum includes an educational component that teaches students about one or more of these environmental issues: endangered, threatened or other plant/animal species; prairies types and plants; trees; Iowa wildflowers; recycling; adopt-a-highway or litter pick-up; recreational trails; wetlands; archaeology; air quality/pollution; earth science; use of environmentally-friendly goods such as agricultural-based soy and corn products; or energy conservation and use of alternative fuels. 

Eligible Enviro-Explorers' Classrooms will receive:

• Kids Paks for all students that includes a bike map, kite, rub-on images, zipper or bag tag, and endangered/threatened species trading cards. (The availability of Kids Paks is a limited time offer and will continue only as long as supplies last.)

• On-line environmental activities for students.
• Membership cards for all students.
• On-line teacher/instructor resources.
• On-line learning resources about  wildflowers, archaeology, endangered and threatened species, and much more.
• Periodic notices about new resources and activities.
• Information about fun contests.
• A chance to have Enviro (the club's mascot) visit your classroom.

How does my classroom become a member?

Membership applications must be submitted by an eligible public or private classroom teacher or home school instructor. The application process is easy.  All you have to do is click on the "APPLICATION FORM"  link below and complete the simple application form.

Applications are reviewed by the Iowa Department of Transportation to confirm eligibility.  If your classroom meets all of the eligibility requirements, your Enviro-Explorers' Classroom Membership package will arrive in the mail within the following 7 to 10 days. 

If there are any questions regarding eligibility, the applicant will be contacted either by phone or E-mail.
