Step One
Take a large egg and crack the shell about one-fourth
of the way from the top by tapping the egg against the edge
of the counter or a bowl. Empty the contents of the egg into
a bowl. Rinse the eggshell with water and dry it gently with
a paper towel.
|
Step Two
Cut a small piece of pipe cleaner and form it into a circle
to use as a base. A small piece of cardboard also works. Apply
hot glue or white glue to the pipe cleaner or cardboard and
place the egg on the base. Let the glue set. If you use hot
glue, it will set in a few minutes; white glue needs to set
for a few hours. If using a hot glue gun, parental assistance
is recommended.
|
Step Three
Using acrylic craft paint or markers, decorate the eggshells.
Let the paint or ink dry completely to avoid smudging.
|
Step Four
Fill the eggshells a little over halfway with potting
soil.
|
Step Five
Add many grass seeds or two bean seeds (in case one doesn't
sprout).
The grass seed takes a few
weeks to grow, but the bean seeds will spring up in just a
few days.
